We arrived home from China on April 3rd.  Doctors say you will experience the most positive changed within the 2 to 6 month post stem cell time frame.   Welll..............  Brooke doesn't want to wait!  Today we had some friends over.  Brooke loves her friend Maggie and wanted to be by her.  I said, "Go ahead, walk to Maggie."  So walk to Maggie she did!!  She took 8 steps independently!!  But that wasn't enough.  I was telling Ed about it, he was in the kitchen and Brooke had just walked out of the bathroom, holding onto the wall as she usually does.  She was beaming as I told Dad the story of her 8 steps.  I said, "Show Dad how you take your steps, Brooke."  So she concentrated on her balance, let go of the wall, and took step after step after step, all the way to her Dad!  She walked across the kitchen, which for her was 26 steps!!  Our eyes filled with tears as we counted every step!  She was so good at regaining her balance after every time she moved her feet forward.  They were small steps, but many of the greatest accomplishments in our world begin with the small steps.  I'm so happy to share with all of you reading, I wish you could have seen it, I thought of everyone and all your support and prayers, supporting Brooke so she can keep on walkin!  Yes indeed, she's-a-walkin!!
