Hello All:  Today's the day following our first stem cell injection.  It went in via lumbar puncture and Brooke did wonderfully.  Seconds after the sedation was added to her iv she was lights out!!  Worked fast.  She slept through the night and woke today at 7am.  She seemed great until I helped her stand up to get dressed, she seemed to not enjoy the weight bearing at all, and then upon lying her down, she flinched when her back met the mattress so it was surely sensitive.  Doc said that's normal.  No vomitting though, no fever, no headache, so some soreness at the site isn't bad.   She's been hanging out on the bed here since.  I cancelled physical training with James.  Brooke gave thumbs up when we told him free day.  So Peter babysat her while Cindy and I ran to the store.  Looked for a mixer for cream but found none.  nbc crew left today.  The head of the Hong Kong Bureau is Fritz, he said they all fell in love with Toots.  So there were tears shed today when they headed back to Beijing.  They will be back in 3 weeks.  Strange how you make friends so quickly with strangers when you spend so much time together.  Brooke is doing quite well now, Peter said he had her up and walking around and she was fine with it.  Thanks again for all the prayers.

      Hi Brooke,
We had another HAT DAY at school today for a family who had a house fire. All the kids are wearing crazy hats again. Tomorrow we are all going to dress up for the end of our reading week. We will dress up as our favorite animal from a story.
I hope this message finds you feeling well!!
      Mrs. Schleis
